What is Best Yet to be?

Dear Friends,

What is best yet to be?

I was honored in being invited to conduct a session for Senior Citizens in Laudium, Pretoria on the 19th of November 2022 and I would love to share what I presented to them on here so everyone can benefit from this session!

Around 45 senior citizens participated in this event, it was an interactive session, which I enjoyed
with them, it gave a lot of insight of their lifestyles, how they pursue their life after covid, Load Shedding and High Crime rate.

I have chosen the topic of What is BEST yet to be! Interlinked to What is Worst yet to be? What is yet to Be?

What is worst yet to be?

Life has created so many dimensions throughout your lifespan, what life was before this?

What you have already faced and experienced, During Apartheid era, staying in Groups, banned from certain areas, school, universities, still you were so determinant to make life happen and achieve whatever you needed and wanted, you made the most what was afforded to you.

There was a time where you had to face financial problems, and lots of other facilities then today’s
modern amenities and technologies, but you survived successfully and reached to today’s real world.

So what worries you today? What’s bothering you?

Yes I understand load shedding , high crime, burglary , we are not safe in our own homes.

During load shedding no TV entertainment, no traffic lights, driving becomes difficult in dark but if
we pre plan and prioritise our daily routine during these crises? Rather than just generating FEAR?

From your experience and strength which you have proven in the past, definitely we can schedule
our life in a better way. I know certain things are beyond our control, but we can take precautions and prevent the unforeseen incidents. Also live the life in acceptance rather than in denial. If you are afraid, speak to family and friends, do not ignore.

So, speaking honestly, NOTHING worst yet to be? What you are now facing, you already faced in the
PAST.

What is yet to be?

You have lived your life with your passion, responsibilities, and all other aspects of life.

So now yet to be is to Enjoy your life.

From today’s exercise, I have observed that some of the Senior citizens are suffering from different types of FEAR such as loneliness, Illness, gradually deteriorating eye sight, losing touch with children

      • Grand Children, feeling of emotional detachment from family members losing life-partner and Fear
        of Death.

That means we are living the life in future incidents rather then motivating ourselves to live the life
in present moments and appreciate every moment of our most valuable time now.

Start investing your finance your pension funds in yourself, pass your experience to new generation
and reach out to good cause, NGOs etc, add some smile in other’s life to get out of your loneliness
    and other Fearful thoughts.

Connect the Dots where you have started in the Beginning and carry on.

So, what is the priority here? Health and living in presence this is YET to be which we are missing out.

What is Best yet to be?

Connection, Sharing Experience, networking, socializing, creating opportunity for support system

Create friend circle, build the connection with new things, whatever hobbies were left out in life, do
it NOW, Age is not Bar for any hobbies to pursue. Go for outing, coffee, create your infrastructure of
your requirements, rather than focusing on whole day on household things and baby-sitting for
grand-kids then same grandkids grows up and demand their own space, same as your children and
then you feel left out or withdrawal from them.

Maintain Balance in this age and connect to your happiness.

Remember, Priority is your happiness and happy living being without hurting anyone and having any
Guilt conscious! That is BEST yet to be!
